Coldest January on Record?
Cher writes " I am transcribing an 1883 diary written by a woman who lived in Pittsfield, MA. I just finished transcribing her entry for January 26, 1883 as follows: "The coldest morning of the season, 25 below zero at Hinsdale." "I harnessed Ben and took Daisie and drove down to school for Eva & then took Mother down."
Just thought you all might like to know how cold it was there 127 years ago!! Sure hope you all are warmer then they were. I'm enjoying the Florida sunshine and don't miss the cold of my hometown in New York one little bit!
Stay warm!"
