Selectman Trova made a motion to accept the prior meeting minutes. Board Members Marshall & Cormier seconded. All were in favor.

The Select Board has met in public to review and approve correspondence and warrants presented to them.

Old Business:

Selectman Trova wanted to follow up on some of the issues that had come up in the prior Select Board Meeting:

1. Called County Wide mowing about dumping leaves at the cemetery-Paul
2. Spoke to Paul Nichols about gravel being hauled out via Rt. 143- Bruce
3. Called local scoutmaster about organizing a grave stone cleaning day -Kathy
4. Ed to provide Kerri with the original (to be copied) or a copy of the 30-yr agreement with Dalton -Ed
5. Researched campership attendance -Bruce
6. Fixing town hall clock-Casey
7. Follow up with Chief Powell about getting Finance the other information that was requested -Paul

The floor was open for discussion.

The Select Board had received a copy of the Town of Windsor’s letter from the DOR. Barb Simken will get a letter to the Select Board from the Town of Windsor asking them for their acceptance of the waiver.

Pete Gallant had appointed Gary Turner as the second new full time DPW employee. Selectman Trova motioned to confirm Pete’s appointment of Gary Turner as the new full time DPW employee. Select Board member Cormier seconded, all were in favor.

Mike Frederick had submitted a copy of the Ashmere Lake draw down letter from DCR to the Select Board.

Selectman Trova had mentioned that the Board had received a summons with regards to the Ashmere Landings Dock situation.

Ed Goddard had mentioned that he had received an email from Kerri asking him to do another inspection at the Youth Center. Ed had also asked for the Boards permission to block a portion of the road at the cemetery, a number of stones have been damaged due to vehicle traffic in the area. The Board had granted permission to Ed to obtain pricing for a removable fence for the area.

Rick Koch had reported the results from the Plunkett Lake water sampling to the Board. The PH results were .74 & .767, the calcium results were between 6 & 8 and this appears to be the lowest in all of Berkshire County. They will continue to monitor the situation accordingly. The Select Board thanked the group for their efforts.

Laura Galliher would like to have the Tax classification Hearing on September 9th, 2009 at 6:30 pm. The Board agreed to her request.

Barb Simken had reported that she has had a number of computer problems and would like to have the Town consider the purchase of a Server. Barb had also mentioned that she had received a payment breakout from the old phone company. Selectman Marshall added that the proposed savings never occurred. Selectman Trova stated that they will need to prove to us that we owe them the money. Selectman Trova will take a look at the documents accordingly.

Fran Flanagan re-created the suggested maintenance document from Chris Campbell. The Select Board thanked Fran for his efforts. The Select Board would like to have the document added to the website.

Selectman Trova excused himself from the meeting

Selectman Marshall motioned to accept Kim Trova’s proposal for the after school program at the Old Town Hall Community Center that she had submitted. Select Board Member Cormier seconded, all were in favor.

Selectman Trova re-entered the meeting

Selectman Marshall notified Selectman Trova that Kim Trova’s proposal was accepted by Board Members Cormier and himself. Selectman Trova on behalf of Kim Trova would like to have her named removed as a member of the Old Town Hall Community Center Committee. Board members Cormier & Marshall agreed.

Selectman Marshall would like to letter sent to Ed Reilly to thank his for all of his years of service to the Town.

Select Board Member Cormier had mentioned that she is working on obtaining an estimate for re- surfacing the Old Town Hall Community Center gym floor.

Kerri Striebel had mentioned that there are a number of items that will be addressed at the Old Town Hall Community Center within the next couple weeks. She had sent an email to the Board of Heath, Building Inspector, and the Fire Chief asking for the building to be re-inspected at some point between September 19th and September 30th. The Electrician has been onsite addressing a number of issues with the building. There was water at one point running down the fuse panel, sparking and such. We asked him to take care of it ASAP. A lot of work has been done in the building but we still have some items that will need to be addressed, so we have a work party scheduled for Sunday, September 13th, 2009 starting at 10am. All are welcome to come over and help out.

Having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:14 pm.

Respectfully prepared by: Kerri Striebel, Select Board’s Assistant.
