Post subject: Hinsdale/Peru Cemeteries |
|
|
Greetings Everyone,
I just joined the Hinsdale Mass page. I was wondering if anyone might know some details about the cemeteries in the Hinsdale/Peru area? I am trying to find where my great grandfather was buried. According to the Berkshire Eagle and his death certificate he was buried in Hinsdale but I cannot figure out how to find out where he is buried. I visited a couple years ago and drove to some of the cemeteries and walked around looking for his headstone with no luck. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? His death was unexpected (railroad accident at the age of 33) and he left behind a wife with many small children so I am not sure what happened in cases like this back during that time. Thanks for any help in advance.

I want to Inform the person who asked about their relative, C.
Griswold being buried in Hinsdale or Preu, that he is buried in the
middle of Section 2 of the Maple Street Cemetery with a large limestone
marker with name and a blurb that Mr. Griswold was killed by a train in
Pittsfield.
Thanks Ed. Goddard
