Select Board:
Chairman Paul Trova, Bruce Marshall, Kathy Cormier.
Board & Public Attendees:
John Adams, Russ Parks, Peter Frissell, Larry Turner, James Manning, Ray Bolduc, Michael Nugai, D. Frank, James Bodine, Phil Collins, Mike Frederick.
At 7:00 PM Selectman Trova opened the Select Board’s meeting.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Select Board Member Cormier made a motion to accept the prior Select Board meeting minutes. Selectman Marshall seconded. All were in favor.
The Select Board has met in public to review and approve correspondence and warrants presented to them.
Old Business:
N/A
The floor was open for discussion.
The Select Board opened the sealed Fire Department Brush Truck bids that had been submitted. The bids were as follows:
Rosenbower: $154,409
Fire Tech of New England: $123,847
Seagrave Fire: $155,383
New England Fire Apparatus: $137,190
Greenwood: $142,305
Selectman Marshall motioned to table the bids until the Fire Chief has a chance to review them and get back to us accordingly. Select Board Member Cormier seconded, all were in favor.
There will be a Select Board meeting on May 12th, 2010 at 6:00 PM in the Select Board Meeting room.
Phil Collins is continuing to work on the war memorial, anyone interested in lending a hand can give him a call.
Selectman Trova had noticed a flyer advertising Nelson Belot’s business here in Town. The Select Board has not issued him a business license and have referred him to the Zoning Board of Appeals.
The Select Board had reviewed the Central Berkshire Regional School District Lease submission for the Kittredge School property. Additional changes are still needed and Selectman Trova will forward the document to Town Council for their review.
The Select Board would like to change the Dog Officers salary to $40.00 per week for FY2011. Selectman Trova will update the Finance Committee accordingly.
The Select Board would like to accept the resignation of Ray Bolduc from the Zoning Board of Appeals with regret. The resignation will be effective June 30th, 2011.
Mike Frederick had mentioned that Kathy Cormier has done an excellent job filling in for other Boards such as the Conservation Commission.
Todd Larrivee has resigned from the Transfer Station, his last day will be May 6th, 2010. Gary Turner will be filling in until we hire a new attendant.
Selectman Marshall would like to hold off paying the invoice submitted from Countrywide Landscaping until the work has been completed.
Ed Goddard had mentioned that he had received a call from John Boshere (DEP). He had received a report that someone had buried mercury in capped bottles at 33 George Schnopp Road. Selectman Trova will give John (DEP) a call about this issue.
The Select Board would like to get a receipt book for the Transfer Station.
Laura Galliher asked about the status of the gravel renewals. The Board would like to have Ken Boudreau at the May 12th, 2010 meeting to discuss the status of the applications.
The Select Board survey results were distributed to Department Heads that were present. Selectman Trova explained the grading system to the attendees.
Having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:03 PM.
